Me Like Cookie!

One of my many nicknames as a little girl was The Cookie Monster. Apparently I had a real fondness for Nutter Butters, something I can’t even imagine today because I really don’t like peanut butter cookies (add some quince jelly to them and then maybe we’ll talk). Anyway, remember how The Cookie Monster used to always say “Me like cookie!!!”? Well, that’s how I feel this week. Me like baking cookie!!!

I’ve been trying some stuff from Washburn & Butt’s new Complete Gluten-free Cookbook this week. Thank god I have work and The Man to dump all this stuff on (vs. my already ample hips).

Here’s some really fab Orange & Chocolate Chip Strips. They started life in the cookbook as Orange Almond Strips, but I thought chocolate chips (sans almonds) would help them out. Chocolate chips make everything taste better, don’t you think?

Here’s the same cookies in a better pose (they said to me We’re ready for our close-up, Mr. DeMille!)

Then, I moved on to these Oatmeal-Raisin classics.

I’d have to say that oatmeal raisin cookies aren’t one of those things I’ve longed for as a celiac and am so grateful to have back in my life. They’re really good. But they don’t have chocolate chips.

  1. I’ve been in a cookie mood myself lately but haven’t had time to bake. I wish I was closer to you…I’d help you with all those leftovers! šŸ™‚
